Room(s): Kitchen
Design Style: Transitional
This kitchen needed to work harder. The space was long, dark, and felt disconnected despite its size. The clients wanted something functional, warm, and easy to live with. No interest in trends or anything that felt precious.
We grounded the kitchen with dark cabinetry and balanced it with light stone surfaces to keep the space from feeling heavy. The patterned backsplash adds interest without becoming the focus.
The island was designed to handle daily life, not just seating. Prep, storage, gathering. Everything flows toward it.
Exposed ceiling beams were kept visible to preserve warmth and character.
• Dark cabinetry with light stone countertops
• Large island designed for daily use
• Patterned backsplash for subtle texture
• Open flow between kitchen and dining
